Still Life
The first oil painting I ever did, as a 7 year old, was of lemons, and I have been hooked on painting still life subjects ever since. I love the patterns, shapes, colours, textures and interaction between objects that a good still life can give. It is also a happy challenge for me as an artist to get my still life to look realistic, while conveying my own painting style.
Some of my still life's are straight forward, but some have hidden meanings. These latter, of which I may only paint one a year, can take up to 3 months to complete.
On all of my works done on block canvas, the painting continues on all sides of the canvas.
